Rates and reimbursements

Rates

Treatment is covered by your health insurance, if there is a DSM diagnosis. The care provided falls under so-called "non-contracted care," due to several reasons:

  • The ability to independently determine diagnostics, referral, and treatment choices in collaboration with the client.
  •  Protecting patient privacy by not sharing patient information with the health insurer.
  • Prioritizing patient contact over the time-consuming, bureaucratic digital billing process.
  • Not being restricted in the number of clients accepted from any given insurer.

For further background and information, please see the national information regarding non-contracted care.

Practical information

Within 24 hours after each session, you will receive an invoice, which should be paid before the next appointment. You can then submit this to your health insurer.

Depending on your insurance policy, 50% to 100% of the treatment costs may be reimbursed, after the obliged deduction of the Dutch 'eigen risico/own risk'. Always check with your insurer for the current reimbursement rates. Fees for a GZ-psychologist are nationally regulated by the Dutch Healthcare Authority (NZA).

See here for a complete overview of the Dutch rates for GZ-psychologists. Would you like to know in advance what the reimbursements per insurer will be for 2025 for non-contracted care? Check here.
